Privacy Policy

Last updated 13 August 2026

Makai Growth is the trade name of Makai Online Services LLC, a limited liability company owned and operated by Dean Christener, providing Amazon marketplace management services to a small number of consumer brands. This policy explains how I handle data accessed through the Makai Growth Amazon Data Connector, and how I handle information submitted through this website.

What data I access

Through the Amazon Selling Partner API, and only for brands that have explicitly authorized the connector, I access:

  • FBA inventory levels, inbound shipments, and inventory health
  • Sales and traffic reporting
  • Search query performance and Brand Analytics reporting
  • Settlement reports, fees, and reimbursements
  • Product catalog and listing records
  • Order records and FBA customer returns

I do not request or receive personally identifiable information. The connector holds no Amazon roles that grant access to buyer names, email addresses, street addresses, or phone numbers. Those fields are returned redacted and are not used.

Through this website, I collect only what you submit in the contact form: your name, your email address, and your message.

How data is collected

Amazon data is retrieved only through the Selling Partner API, under an explicit authorization granted by the brand that owns the account, using Amazon's Login with Amazon authorization flow. A brand can revoke that authorization at any time from Seller Central. No data is scraped, purchased, or obtained from data brokers or third-party aggregators.

How data is used

Amazon data is used to produce reporting and analysis for the brand that owns it. That includes weekly performance reporting, inventory replenishment planning, FBA fee and dimension audits, returns analysis, and keyword research.

Each brand's data is used only for that brand. Data is never pooled across brands, never used for benchmarking, and never used to inform work for anyone else.

How data is stored and protected

Amazon data is not stored at rest. The connector requests data from Amazon, produces the analysis, and returns the result. Nothing is written to a database, a cache, or a file.

The only item held long term is each brand's authorization token, which is encrypted using AES-256-GCM before it is written. The encryption key is held separately from the encrypted data, so access to the storage alone does not yield anything usable.

All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher. The connector runs on serverless infrastructure with no exposed servers, no databases, and no open network ports. Access requires a cryptographically random access token. Requests without it are rejected before reaching any application logic.

I am the only person with access to the connector or to the data it returns. Subcontractors engaged for other parts of the business have no access to it, its credentials, or its output. Credentials are held in an encrypted password manager protected by multi-factor authentication.

The connector is read-only. It cannot change a listing, adjust a price, cancel an order, or submit anything to Amazon on a brand's behalf.

How data is shared

I do not share Amazon data with any third party. I do not sell it, license it, or provide it to advertisers or data brokers.

Two infrastructure providers process data in the course of operating the connector: Cloudflare, which hosts the compute and the encrypted token store, and Anthropic, which provides the AI assistant that issues queries. Neither has independent access to brand data.

Reports and analysis go only to the brand that owns the underlying data.

How data is deleted

When a brand revokes authorization or ends its engagement, the stored authorization token is deleted and access ends immediately.

Because no Amazon data is retained beyond the life of a request, there is no historical store to purge. Any operational records that reference Amazon data are retained no longer than 18 months.

Contact form submissions are retained only as long as needed to respond, and are deleted on request.

Compliance

The connector is operated in accordance with Amazon's Acceptable Use Policy and Data Protection Policy. Security incidents involving Amazon data are reported to Amazon at security@amazon.com within 24 hours of discovery, and affected brands are notified directly.

Your rights

If you are a brand I work with, or you have contacted me through this site, you can ask what data I hold, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Email dean@makaigrowth.com and I will respond.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a revised date.
